Сюжет фильма "Любовный переплет" рассказывает о двух семьях Уоллинг и Острофф, которые живут в пригороде Нью-Джерси по соседству и хорошо дружат между собой. После пятилетнего отсутствия, нарушает спокойствие данного тихого городка возвращение на День Благодарения красавицы-дочки Нины Острофф (Лейтон Мистер) домой. Вместо того, чтобы проводить время с сыном своих соседей Тоби Уоллинга (Адам Броди), она, расставшаяся незадолго до этого со своим женихом, решается на романтические отношения с его родным отцом (Хью Лори). И когда все в округе узнают об этом поступке, включая их собственные семьи, - начинается полный беспорядок!
